34!

Well I am now 34. The birthday weekend was a blast! Lots of good food, great music and amazing friends.

Being 34 is fun. My memory is terrible so everything is new and exciting, my legs ache a little more after skiing which warrants more leg rubs and the longer I live the more friends I have! I am always so lucky to find such good friends in the places I live! I only wish you all could be in one place TOGETHER.

"Don't push so hard against the world
You can't do it all alone
and if you could
would you really want to?
Even though you're a big strong girl
come on, come on
lay it down
the best made plans
come on, come on
lay it down
are your open hands..."

The solution

Thanks to Johnny G, I have found a solution for the failed knitting project. A trash can cover! Now I can send this to my mom with great pride and know that she will use it and love it and have the BEST kitchen trash can in Palm Springs.

What a releif!

Happy Birthday to my Mom

I have been knitting this bag for my Mom's birthday. The bag is knitted rather large with WOOL yarn and then felted down so that it becomes a tight wool bag that is perfect for all occasions. However, I like to take the labels off of my yarn and I ended up using some acrylic yarn and some wool yarn. What does it all mean? The bag was a complete failure and now I have nothing to give my mom for her birthday. If anyone has any suggestions of what to do with this rather large floppy bag or any ideas of what I can get my mom for her birthday, please let me know

A little extra time

Hi. Since you are here at my blog, you must have a little bit of extra time on your hands. Since that is the case you gotta go to http://www.planetdan.net/pics/misc/georgie.htm.

This is better than any video game I have come across:) It's real easy, if he gets stuck just give him a little nudge with you mouse. Try throwing him across the screen. Oooooh it feels soooo good.

Winter

The snow did not amount to much yesterday but the ice skating was superb! We have miles of waterways here that are shallow and frozen. Perfect for ice skating and exploring in the winter.

Oysters

I LOVE oysters. I HATE shucking the things. I always end up with more shell than oyster and each bite is chalky and crunchy. Today I discovered oysters in a jar! These are fresh, shucked oysters in their own juice ready to go. NO shucking! If you love oysters, you gotta try these. I was very skeptical but seriously they are better than any fresh oyster that I have had. Even better than the Oregon coast oysters that Erin and I ate way too many of last summer.

Enjoy!

Wednesday Morning

Well, Ermie did not make it through the night. Probably for the best since it seemed like he had some injuries that might have interfered with him being a wild animal.

My New Pride and Joy

Today Steve and I took a little hike and found this little guy right on the trail. It is a baby Ermine. It has been injured and does not seem to be doing very well. We are giving it food and water puree in an eye dropper, one drop at a time. Normally, we would not interfere with mother nature and the normal cyle of things but this little guy was way too cute to leave out in the cold.
